SUMMARY:Open Mic Featuring Glenn & Polly
DESCRIPTION:Glenn & Polly \nThis month\, we’re excited to present Glenn & Polly as our feature performers. \nThough for most of their lives they have been worlds apart and unknown to each other\, playing music has been part of their mental health. They were both oddballs in their youth and still are. our youth\, and we still are. Thing is\, they’re the perfect oddballs for each other. \nWhen they met\, their quirky personalities seemed to mesh seamlessly. When playing music together they were pleasantly surprised to find that their finger-picking guitar styles\, voices\, and song preferences quickly found common ground. Glenn & Polly aspire to a “less is more” approach in most things\, and they especially try to express that in their music. In their 70’s they trusted their instincts and decided to join their lives together\, selling their separate housess and buying and buying a home\, with a perfect room for music\, to share with their cats. \nThe many communities of New Hampshire that work so hard to host local musicians\, story-tellers\, and poets\, and the performers who love to wander this coffee house trail\, have become an important part of their lives. They cherish the growing friendships\, support\, and inspiration of their local musical community\, and they consider it a gift to be able to come together and share the soothing vibrations of locally-made\, hand-crafted music in these unsettled times. \nMusic at the Museum is a three-season open mic that occurs at 1:00 pm on the last Saturday of each month\, typically from March through October of each year. Weather permitting\, the open mic is held outdoors at the Museum from May through September\, and unless otherwise indicated\, at the Rindge Meeting House in March\, April\, and October. In the case of rain (or worse)\, we move indoors to the Rindge Meeting House. Slots are two songs or ten minutes\, whichever comes first\, and can be reserved by emailing Ray Siekierski at nooniekirk52@gmail.com. \nFor additional information\, visit the Music at the Museum page.
